This was a heavily used binding that contains a folk leather repair on the spine. This binding was given to the University of Cincinnati by Daniel Drake's grandson. This copy appears to be the same impression as item record #: i49068945, but may have been a separate issue. It contains a higher quality paper, but is missing the second fold out map. The front fold out map appears to have originally been located in front of the title page, whereas the first fold out map of the Ohio River is located after pp. 34 in the other Winkler copy currently in the lab for conservation (record #: i4906845). The same map of the Ohio River is oriented and folded differently in these two copies. In this copy, the Ohio River runs along the gutter and is sewn into the textblock along the bottom of the map. In the other copy, the map located on pp. 34 is oriented so the Ohio River runs along the bottom edge and is sewn into the textblock along the right side. Both copies are bound in marbled tree calf leather; however this copy originally contained double gilt lines along the spine panels, whereas the other Winkler copy contains double blind lines.
