| Description: | This box is part of a large collection of UC dissertations, programmschriften, and pamphlets in Classical Studies from the Classics Library. Each box in this collection has approximately 20-25 dissertations. The 25 pamphlets of box 383 were in poor condition and most had become brittle over time. Some pamphlets were sewn and some were side stapled, where the staples had become corroded over time. In preparation for digitization, Box 383 was evaluated for conservation treatment and handling during digitization. Each pamphlet housed in box 383 was evaluated, and treatment was conducted to repair small tears, reattached loose pages, remove corroded staples, as well as remove any loose dirt. Each pamphlet was housed in an archival manila folder, and all together were housed in an archival custom corrugated clamshell box with a surrogate of the original spine adhered to the spine of the enclosure. |
