This book was selected for conservation treatment as part of the 2019 UC Adopt‐a‐Book program. This is one of the many volumes that Stephen Blumberg, acknowledges as one of the greatest book thieves in history, stole from UC Libraries in the 1960s, '70s, and '80s. Eventually the UC books were recovered after Blumberg was caught and convicted. The books that Blumberg stole, like this volume, are now educational tools for cultural history and library heritage. This volume, like the other recovered, had been mutilated by Blumberg, he had razor-bladed out the UC identifying marks, such as the property stamps. View Catalog Record |
