Submitters of digital content to the Ohio Digital Resource Commons (DRC) are responsible for ensuring that their content does not violate copyright.  Ownership and copyright of digital content does not change, but submitters grant the DRC a non-exclusive right to make the content available for research and educational purposes.  For more information, see Fair Use & Copyright.

The DRC supports virtually all types and quantities of content including documents, such as articles, preprints, working papers, technical reports, conference papers, theses, dissertations, images and data sets.  It also supports a virtually unlimited variety of digital file types and formats — anything understood by a web browser with commonly available plug-ins — including audio, video, streaming video, multimedia presentations, animations, simulations, learning objects and Web pages.  A large storage area network allows for virtually unlimited storage space.

Text within documents will be indexed.  Searchable metadata for authors, titles, subjects and descriptive notes can also be assigned to each digital object.  The DRC supports a hierarchy of "Communities" and "Collections."

Departments and Colleges interested in submitting materials to the DRC should contact the UC Libraries to set up an initial consultation to discuss training and procedures.
